In 1999, Mr. Amoroso was given the honor, by the Director of Music at Proclamation Presbyterian Church of assembling small string ensembles to perform for the first Sunday of every month. Not long after, his son, a violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra became involved in the hiring process and was able to procure outstanding string players from the Orchestra to perform with them and on most occasions, with the addition of two other string players, as a string quartet. During the holidays, he expanded the group with more imports from the Orchestra and on other occasions reduced the size of the ensemble when those musicians were not available to play.
The following selections offered here are live performances recorded before and during Sunday service over a span of fourteen years (2001 -2014) at Proclamation Presbyterian Church, with one short rehearsal preceding the service.
This is a transcription I did for a Jazz fusion concert in 1988 with my son and I and several other notable jazz musicians
These next four selections are performances Richard Amoroso, cellist and Richard Amoroso, violinist did as a Duo and as part of a Piano Trio
This movement (abridged) was performed during communion under limited time restraints. Rehearsal time was also limited to having only one quick run-through of each piece before the start of this particular service. The pianist is Asaki Nakagawa
This is an arrangement for another jazz fusion concert about 25 years ago, with my son and I and several other jazz musicians
This a piece I arranged for a piano trio concert at Proclamation Presbyterian Church in June of 2007
